“Open up a new world of excitement and adventure”
Note: No other sailing school in New England has come close to matching our ASA 101 course! We have better instructors, better boats, better methods, and better locations – hands down! Our track record is second to none!
No experience is necessary, the learning curve is steep, and we guarantee results! After successfully completing our intensive 3-day course, you will earn ASA (101) Basic Keelboat Certification. This course will provide you with a solid foundation, teaching you the essential skills you’ll need to command a boat up to a 30ft on your own. In fact, ASA 101 graduates have the option to join our sailing club as an annual member at a 15 – 30% discount!
This exciting entry level course is designed to accommodate a wide range of experience levels. Our unique curriculum exceeds ASA standards, providing plenty of repetition and on-water sailing time to ensure great results. We are very confident that no other 101 course in New England is as thorough as this course. You will be amazed at how much you can learn in a relatively short time!
This course provides 24 hours of instruction over three consecutive days AND an opportunity for heavily discounted sailing access! The on-water portion of the course is taught aboard a late model Colgate 26 – simply the BEST purpose built training boat available. The Colgate 26 has been chosen by the US Naval Academy, the US Coast Guard Academy, Maine Maritime Academy, and various other colleges and universities for their training and collegiate racing needs. We may also take you out on the second best training boat in the world – the 26ft J/80 to give you a new experience. Each day consists of a dynamic two hour lecture, a quick lunch break, followed by at least 5 hours of hands-on sailing!
Topics include preparation, nomenclature, wind orientation, sail theory, primary sailing maneuvers, sail trim, crew positions & responsibilities, basic mooring/docking techniques, anchoring, local knowledge of our sailing grounds, and much more.
Only three students per class – the best ratio in the industry. If a group of friends or two couples request to enroll together, we will permit a four to one ratio, but usually add an additional day of instruction (at no additional cost) to provide enough hands on sailing time per person.
$899 per person
Plus an ASA textbook package (Sailing Made Easy & ASA Logbook) and materials for $29.95, and a required one-time ASA processing fee of $39.00 (includes a one-year ASA membership and a sailing magazine subscription)
Note: Sales tax on books is required, and a $10 shipping fee will be charged for all book packages.
