BRSS Performance Cruising

“Speed and proper sail trim is not only for racers!”

(This course is in addition to the standard ASA progression of courses and is called “102” – which does not exist in the ASA progression.

Although BRSS employees consider themselves cruising sailors, their extensive racing backgrounds have helped make their cruising safer and more fun! Tweaking sails, improving boat handling, playing currents and windshifts, and flying a spinnaker can increase your speed substantially, thus making it easier to make port before sunset, outrun an approaching storm, or simply pass all of the other boats around you because you can. You will be surprised at how much you can gain by putting in just a little more thought and effort!

This two day/one evening advanced course is taught aboard a late model Colgate 26 – giving our students a unique opportunity to learn how to manage symmetrical spinnakers – and will teach you what you need to know about sail shape controls, hull trim/balance, wind and current strategy, and spinnaker sailing.

CLASS FORMAT (18.5 hours)
Friday evening from 6:30pm to 9pm Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm

$775 per person plus North U “Trim for Speed” book for $25.

Note: Sales tax on books is required, and a $10 shipping fee will be charged for all book packages.

MAKE IT A VACATION WEEK! Get 10% off two courses and stay aboard for free if you do a 102/103 or 102/104 combo week. Minimum of two people to run classes.

Up to four students per class because of the potential demands of handling a spinnaker (three is the norm, and two is the minimum!)
