Having returned to our roots and core values, Black Rock has evolved back into a boutique sailing school, offering customized sail training solutions to clients along the entire US East Coast and Caribbean.
Because of this, we can no longer offer online booking, and ALL certification courses and sail training sessions are booked by telephone.
Black Rock’s founder, Captain Brenton, wants to discuss your goals so that we can create a plan that will best suite your needs and schedule.

BOOKING AN AMERICAN SAILING 101 BASIC KEELBOAT
CERTIFICATION COURSE

- Available Memorial Day Weekend through the first weekend of October
- Offered at our Warwick, RI location aboard a Colgate 26 – OR aboard your private vessel in your home port!
- We start a class with two students, and close it at three (or four if a private class, and we add an additional day).
- These courses are held over three consecutive days – either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday OR Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Custom scheduling is offered.
- Class runs from 10am to 6pm daily. There is a two hour lecture each morning, followed by a lunch break, and then approximately five hours of practical and sailing every afternoon.
- Back to back 101/103 combination courses are available Mon – Sat or Fri – Wed during the summer season aboard our boat or yours.
- Year round Caribbean courses: 101/103 combination courses are available ANY Saturday to Saturday, aboard a chartered boat out of the US Virgin Islands, Antigua, and the Grenadines.
